The Journal of Sport Science & Innovation (JOSSI)
The Journal of Sport Science & Innovation (JOSSI) is an international, double-blind peer‑reviewed scholarly online journal. It operates on a biannual publication schedule (two formal issues per year) while also utilizing a "Forthcoming Issue" model, ensuring that accepted manuscripts are published online promptly without waiting for the next formal issue.
JOSSI provides open‑access content at no cost to authors or readers. There are no article processing charges (APCs), submission charges, or publication fees.
The journal is dedicated to advancing research and practice in sport sciences, offering a platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and students to share innovative work that bridges theory and practice. It publishes original research papers, review articles, theoretical studies, case studies, conference reports, book reviews, and essays.
Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: exercise physiology and human performance, physical education and pedagogical innovations, sports management, recreation and active lifestyles, sports sociology and ethics, health and sports medicine, technological innovations in sport, and data analytics/artificial intelligence applications in sports.
Submission requirements:
- Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
- All submissions must comply with academic writing standards and be prepared in accordance with the journal’s Author Guidelines (APA 7 style is required).
- Submissions involving human or animal participants must include appropriate ethics committee approvals where applicable.
Review process:
- Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial review (within approximately 2 weeks).
- Suitable manuscripts proceed to a rigorous double‑blind peer‑review process, evaluated by at least two international experts in the relevant field. The overall review process typically takes 4–5 weeks.
- Manuscripts that fail to meet academic or ethical standards at any stage may be desk‑rejected or declined after review.
By upholding these standards, JOSSI ensures the publication of high‑quality, ethically sound, and impactful scholarship in sport sciences.
